Orchis pinetorum (=Orchis mascula subsp. pinetorum) / Erkenci Salep / Early-purple orchid

Orchis pinetorum (=Orchis mascula subsp. pinetorum) / Erkenci Salep / Early-purple orchid from Uludağ, Kestel, Bursa.

Its basal leaves are usually spreading in a rosette and unspotted (in contrast to Orchis ovalis), while its particularities are the pink or purple flower color, the whitish base of the labellum, marked with few purple spots or not marked at all and it's preference to shady, usually coniferous forests. It grows in small populations in Turkish forests and flowers through March-June (Vertical distribution: 150-2400 m).
