Campanula persicifolia (Peach-leaved bellflower/ Çan Çiçeği) from Kestel, Bursa.

Its flowers are cup-shaped and can be either lilac-blue or white. Its foliage is narrow and glossy with a bright green appearance. It is common in the Alps and other mountains in Europe and north-western parts of Anatolia. It grows at lower altitudes in the north, and higher up further south, passing 2,000 m. It flowers normally in June; a dry summer may reduce or inhibit its flowering.

Description: Glabrous, perennial. Stem erect, 55-120 cm, simple, ± striate. Basal leaves linear-lanceolate, petiole 80-110 x 10-200 mm, crenulate acute; stem leaves linear-lanceolate, without petiole, stem surrounded at base 3-30 x 5-70 mm, crenate, acute. Few flowers pedicellate in axils of upper leaves or sides, short petiole (-15 cm). Calyx not ciliate at base, without appendages, lobes linear-lanceolate, 6-17 mm, spreading-erect, persistent, erect in fruit; glabrous, acute. Corolla broadly campanulate, 2-3 cm, divided to 1/5 into short broadly triangular lobes, glabrous, blue. Stamens 5, broadened at base, glabrous. Style as long as corolla. Stigmas 3, lobed, ½ as long as style. Ovary ovate, glabrous. Capsule ovoid, obconical, 7-9 x 7-13 mm, erect, glabrous or rarely setulose, opening by ± apical pores. Seeds ovoid, 1 x 0.5 mm, shiny.
